Portland Trenchless Sewer Replacement
Call Roth Heating & Cooling, Plumbing & Electrical!
In the past, the words “sewer replacement” would send a cold shiver of dread down any homeowner’s spine. A sewer replacement was perhaps one of the worst plumbing services your home or business would ever need. The process involved digging a giant trench on your property to uncover your sewer line, cutting your old line out of the ground, replacing it with a new one, and then re-burying the new line properly. The job was long, intensive, invasive, and cost a pretty penny to complete. However, today this is no longer always the case. Here at Roth Heating & Cooling, Plumbing & Electrical, we’re proud to be Portland’s leading trenchless sewer replacement team, and we offer high-quality solutions that may not involve completely upheaving your entire property.
Are you eligible for a trenchless sewer replacement? If you have a sewer problem, schedule an inspection with Roth Heating & Cooling, Plumbing & Electrical by calling (503) 994-9924 today.
How Trenchless Sewer Replacement Work
Trenchless sewer replacement uses an ingenious methodology known as “pipe relining” to replace your sewer line. Using this method, your new sewer line is installed right in the place of your old line, and all that’s required is the digging of two small holes.
The process begins by separating the segment of pipe to be replaced from your sewer line as a whole. Once the pipe is separated, your plumbers run a tool attached to a winch through the line. The tool is then attached to a fabric liner that’s doused in resin, and the winch pulls this liner through your sewer line until it covers the entire length of the damaged section of your line. Once in place, they seal the line and attach it to an inflator that blows it up like a balloon. The liner then expands, completely filling the inside of your old sewer line. Once the resin the liner is doused in dries, it hardens, creating a solid, smooth, and highly-durable new sewer line that’s ready to service your home! All that’s left to do is connect the line to your main plumbing system and your sewage treatment option, fill the two holes, and your job is complete!
Am I Eligible for Trenchless Sewer Replacement?
While trenchless sewer repairs may seem like the best way to handle a badly-damaged sewer line, the truth is that they can’t fix anything. In order to be eligible for a trenchless sewer line repair, your sewer line needs to be free from certain issues that make the job impossible. For example, a re-lining sewer replacement requires that your line remain fairly structurally intact. Should your line be separated, corroded too thin, or missing large chunks of material, then re-lining won’t work simply because the line can’t create a proper form for the new lining to fill and solidify into.
Likewise, if your line has any major issues such as bellying, improper slope, or collapsed sections, these areas will need to be repaired before your pipe can be re-lined. This will involve further digging to access the damaged area, and thus may make a trenchless repair an ineffective option when it comes to cost. It’s important to figure out if you have any of these issues before beginning a trenchless sewer replacement job, so we encourage you to reach out to our team and schedule a sewer line inspection service as soon as possible!
